INITIAL IDEAS
29 Jan 2020
During the latter half of 2019 the Steering Group, whilst working on other aspects of the process, has being taking steps to publicise the Neighbourhood Plan within the community and also seek ‘Initial Ideas’ as to what residents and others, feel are the ‘good’ points about the area and also what aspects could be improved.
Several of the Group members ran a stall and display at the Community Garden Party in Kirkby Malzeard on July 20, 2019 where we gave out leaflets explaining the purpose of the Plan and also gathered a sizeable number of useful ideas and suggestions from those who attended.
NP UPDATE JULY 2019
We followed this up by producing a September update and questionnaire which was included within the catalogue at the Kirkby Malzeard and District Flower and Produce Show on September 7, 2019. Approximately 100 people received the handout, which was also published on village noticeboards, and whilst responses were limited, those we received were helpful.
NP UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2019
Finally, a stand and display were provided for the Parish Council’s Drug Awareness meeting on December 10, 2019 where a December update was handed out. The meeting was not well attended but it did provide some further publicity and feedback, with the Update again being published on noticeboards in Kirkby Malzeard, Laverton and Dallowgill.
NP UPDATE DECEMBER 2019
We also sought to involve children at the local school by asking them what they liked and didn’t like about the area where they lived when they were producing some logo designs for us at the end of summer term.
