Kirkby Malzeard Gardening Group
Essentially my idea came from suddenly spending a lot of time in my garden, having the will to improve it, but needing to minimise my movements and expenditure due to the coronavirus situation. I cheekily asked on Facebook for something I thought was unrealistic to expect - an acer tree - and was thrilled when a friend in the village kindly offered me one. I have plants I could split and give away; surely other people in the village are able to do the same?
It is very much open to anyone in or close to Kirkby, with any level of expertise. We can support and advise each other in these strange times through a shared interest. For example, I don’t know what half the plants in my garden are, but I am knowledgeable about wildlife. I hope others will come on a little lockdown garden journey with me.
