We are incredibly lucky to have expert advice available from an impressive array of people with a huge wealth of business experience.
If you are a large business with employees or if you have no business at present, but a dream of launching yourself as a sole trader, then this session is for you! These experts are familiar with the business profile of our area and are here to help.
We are very keen to invite local artists and craftspeople to this event. We aim to establish an artisan support network. Please do drop in and introduce yourselves if you have an interest in arts and crafts events.
KMLD Business/Community Group is passionate about facilitating access to funding, support and networks for local businesses. We are also keen to attract Government funding to rural areas. You can help with this aim by simply turning up to meetings and becoming part of a business network in our area.
Advisers available to talk to on the day are:
DAVID KERFOOT CBE, DL. David founded North Yorkshire's Local Enterprise Partnership. He has immense experience of raising multi-million grants for local areas as well as setting his own extremely sucessful business from scratch.
NICHOLAS WHITE, YNY GROWTH HUB. Nick is an experienced Rural Business Consultant with a demonstrated history of working in the civic & social organization industry. His skill ares are: Sustainable Development, Social Enterprise, Corporate Social Responsibility, Business Planning, and Rural Development. He is a strong business development professional, graduated from Durham University.
ALISON LAWS, YNY GROWTH HUB. Alison is YNY Growth Hub's business relationship manager for the Craven area. She is passionate about helping small and medium businesses to develop themselves and their teams. She is particularly experienced in helping small businesses to access support and funding so that they can grow or scale. She has over 30 years experience in the the retail industry bith at home and across the Middle East, India and Asia.
STEVE BOLTON. HBC's 'Welcome Back' consultant for post-covid recovery. Steve is a successful business owner who also works with Lancaster University Business School's 'Help to Grow' programme. He also worked with Leeds LEP on Strategic Business Growth, Investment Readiness and Business Resilience.
DAVID POOLE MBE. David received his MBE in 2019 for services to business, skills and the community. After a very successful career as Managing Director of several international electronic industries, David re-organised the Lower-Wensleydale Business Network. He is also Financial Director of the Leyburn Arts Hub.
PAULA RICHARDSON. Paula is leader of the business network, Dales Business Women and consultant for Smart Bee Sales Consultancy. She has experience in sales strategy, sales management and sales process. Her aim as a consultant is to take small businesses from 'hit & miss' sales to 'predictable & repeatable' sales.
