I have lived in our gorgeous village now for almost 4 years and wouldn’t want to call anywhere else home. I’d hope my knowledge, experience as well as new ideas would help me make a positive impact on our village’s parish council and make the village an even better place to live, I am proud and grateful to be able to stand for Kirkby Malzeard and if elected will give my all to the role.

RICHARD HUGHES

Kirkby resident since 1993, moving up from specialist youth work in the West Midlands/Cotswolds. Rented/teacher trained/bought/married (divorced!) up here !? Fell in love with the area, the people - and they with me (!?) - actively involved in youth work, sports clubs - so many happy memories of nights (before three kids!?) in the Queens and the Jenks - the panto passion, the 10k communal feel good, the Gala, Fiestas at the Mechanics etc etc - so much potential, so much to do! Promoting business/social/community development; let’s start with a fantastic communal jubilee celebration!? (Then retire for tapas!!?) #One Village

PIPPA MANSON

I’ve enjoyed living in Kirkby since moving here in 2007. I’m retired from my job as North Yorkshire’s Head of Outdoor Education. I enjoy exploring our local countryside and further afield, I’m a trustee of the Friends of Nidderdale AONB and I’m involved in many village activities. I joined the Parish Council in 2019 - chairperson since 2020.

Kirkby Malzeard is a great village - with things we can do to make it even better! If elected I’ll work with other councillors and residents to represent local interests and to help the community work together for the benefit of all.

Promoted by Pippa Manson, Malcote, Main Street, Kirkby Malzeard, HG3 4RS

JANE AKSUT

I spent my childhood in Kirkby Malzeard and I’ve been a member of the Parish Council since 2018.

I have experience of shuffling papers in Parliamentary Select Committees and working long hours as a school subject lead. I now teach part-time. I sincerely believe that communities need to communicate and co-operate. I set up the Community Website, our Covid response group and have been discussing plans to improve road safety with various organisations. I have been liaising with other groups in North Yorkshire with the aim of protecting and developing Kirkby Malzeard as a well-resourced place to live and work.
