VACANCY FOR A PARISH COUNCILLOR FOR KIRKBY MALZEARD

There is still a vacancy on the Parish Council for a Councillor to represent Kirkby Malzeard. If you live in or near Kirkby please do consider if you could join the Parish Council in its work supporting the community and helping the parish be a great place to live in.

If you would like more information as to what is involved please speak to any Parish Councillor or phone the Chairperson Pippa Manson on 07812 714677.

We will fill the vacancy by co-option.

If there is more than one applicant the Council will consider which applicant would best represent the community and contribute to the Council bearing in mind the skills of the existing councillors.

Applicants need to be 18 years old or over; and

- is an elector for the parish (i.e. Kirkby Malzeard); or

- has resided in the parish for the past twelve months or rented/tenanted land in the parish; or

- had his/her principal place of work in the parish; or

- has lived within three miles (direct) of the parish.

If you are able to apply please email (or write to) the Parish Clerk (see contact details below). Please confirm your name, address and telephone number, which of the above eligibility factors you meet and briefly explain the contribution you might hope to make to the Council.

Applications should be received no later than Wednesday 20 January 2021. Applications received will be considered at the Parish Council meeting on Monday 25 January 2021.

IN ADDITION TO THE VACANCY FOR A PARISH COUNCILLOR IN KIRKBY - ADVANCE NOTICE OF PARISH COUNCILLOR VACANCY FOR LAVERTON PARISH

Message from Howard Mountain:

It is my intention to resign shortly as a Parish Councillor in Laverton Parish. I am now living outside the Parish, and whilst technically I can continue until May 2022, I am sure it would be much better if someone living locally could take over.

There is a legal process and qualification criteria to meet (similar to that set out above in relation to the Kirkby vacancy), but at this stage, before I formally resign, it would be useful for myself and for the Council, to know whether anyone may be interested.

Please contact me on 01765 689390 or email howard.kmldpc@btinternet.com
